The Office du Tourisme et des Congrès de Paris (Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau) was created in 1971, as a joint initiative between the City of Paris and the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It has three main roles: to welcome and inform visitors and to promote Paris as a destination both within France and internationally. The Bureau actively promotes Paris in terms of its tourism, leisure and business offer to operators and opinion-leading media.
Atout France is the only government-run tourism operator responsible for developing this sector through three main levers: ensuring that France's tourism offer is consistent with international demand, helping to promote and extend the influence of the France Brand and providing customised support to each of its partners.

Since 1987, the French architect, Gérard Ronzatti, has concentrated exclusively on naval architecture and engineering. Recently, as the architect for Bateaux Parisiens, he worked on the new Cristal II. With the only constraint being to keep the outer shell intact, he totally redesigned the interior of the boat. Inspired by Jules Verne's Nautilus, he developed the “loggia” concept, a first for a boat of this scale. A sizeable innovation!
